Parish Committees

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee assists the pastor and trustees in making recommendations to the Parish Council concerning all aspects of parish financial budget matters, stewardship of resources and church support and fundraising coordination. The committee works closely with the parish council and is supportive of all other committees. This committee meets monthly and periodically reviews income and expenditures to determine if the school is operating with the approved budget. This committee makes recommendations for increasing revenues and stewardship of resources. This committee also works with the pastor to implement parish investment policies and make recommendations for investments and the prudent stewardship of the financial resources of the parish.

Worship Committee
The Worship Committee ensures that the parishioners are provided with opportunities to deepen their faith through a variety of prayer experiences and liturgical celebrations. The members of the committee organize and schedule volunteers for the various ministries that assist the pastor at Mass. This committee recommends hymns and music for services and worship. This committee meets monthly.

Lectors
Lectors assist with readings of Scripture, petitions and weekly announcements. The lector takes part in the entrance procession with the celebrant and altar servers. Training is needed for this ministry.

Extraordinary Ministers of the Holy Eucharist
EMHC assist the celebrant with the distribution of Holy Communion and the Cup. There are four (4) or five (5) ministers scheduled for each Mass. Training is needed for this ministry.

Altar Servers
Altar servers assist the priest during the celebration of the Eucharist. It is an honor and a privilege to serve the Lord. Three servers are appointed for each Mass. Requisite: a love of God and a commitment to serve Him when scheduled. Training is needed for this ministry.

Ushers
Ushers are the welcoming committee of the parish. They greet members and guests as they arrive for the celebration and provide general assistance before, during and after Mass. They coordinate the collection of gifts, are responsible for directing the traffic flow during Communion and help with seating when there is an unusual number of persons in attendance. They are responsible for the distribution of the bulletin and other material as needed. Each team of (4) four ushers has a team captain who advises contact people if problems arise and if there is a change in an usher team.

Adult Choir
Men, women and young adults (age 16 and older) are invited to join the music ministry by singing in the Holy Rosary adult choir. Practices are held on Tuesday evenings at 7:00pm in the church. New members are always welcome. Remember, St. Augustine said: “He who sings prays twice.”

Children’s Choir
Children in grade 3 and older are encouraged to participate in the children’s choir. They minister with their voices during a Sunday morning Mass. Children should be encouraged to glorify God through singing God’s praises. Commitment and support by the parents play an important part in this ministry.

Personnel Committee
The Personnel Committee makes recommendations to the Pastor concerning the adoption of parish personnel policies and helps to prepare job descriptions for the parish employees. This committee is a valuable asset to the pastor by providing current professional and legal expertise in the area of human resource administration. This committee meets throughout the year.

Building and Grounds Committee
The Building and Grounds Committee advises the Parish Council of concerns involving the physical condition of parish property, maintenance and upkeep. It identifies and articulates the future needs of the parish. This committee meets monthly throughout the year.

Technology Committee
The Technology Committee mission is to keep the parish and school technology running and updated with latest technical advances that reduce manual processes and increase efficiencies in technology and communication benefitting the following stakeholders (Holy Rosary Parishioners, and Staff). The committee members are comprise of technological experts, consultants, which meet as needed to review and discuss all pertinent information as it relates to Technology and Communication.

Human Concerns Committee
A group of volunteers whose main concern are the poor of the parish and the local community. This group serves meals to the poor at the Shalom Center as well as helping the needy families in the parish.

Brookside Center
The spiritual care of the residents at Brookside Health Care Center has been entrusted to the parish priest at Holy Rosary Parish. A group of volunteers meet each Thursday to assist the residents attend the liturgical service. They help the residents to join others in the celebration of the Mass. Twice a month a group of students from Holy Rosary School provide their services by doing the readings and leading the congregation in the singing. These young students interact with the residents and many form lasting friendships.
